Lisa Carrington has lead the most successful Olympic team in New Zealand's history into Maracana Stadium for the closing ceremony at Rio game. The kayaker was chosen for honor after she became the first New Zealand female athlete to win two medals. We won 18 medals four of them gold and are set to officially finish 19th on the medal table.

Ruapotaka Mini Olympics.
Last Week on Friday Ruapotaka School had our first 2016 Mini Olympics and it started with an opening ceremony outside room 12 and 11.
There were 16 teams. Our team Russia got called to go and do our first mini Olympics activity. It was the gumboot throw on top of the field. Russia was against South Africa. We got to play four different events. At the closing ceremony our teachers were giving out the gold, silver and bronze medals to the people that did well.

Adams wins silver at Rio Games.
Shot put super star Valarie Adams has won sliver medal at the Rio Olympics. Michelle Carter from USA won the final with a sensational 20.63m throw which was too good for Valarie Adams. Carter blew away the competition with her final throw after trailing Valarie Adams for the entire Competition.

Bond and Murray win Gold.
Rowing greatest team Hamish Bond and Eric Murray have won New Zealand's first gold medal at the Rio Olympics. The pair have won the mean's pair final and means their run victories now sits at 69 races. Bond and Murray sat in about third position over the first 500m of the 2000m race.

100 meter backstroke.
Link.I only had one more hour left to practice my backstroke. I got out of the pool then I was looking on my watch to see what was my time. My time was 1 Minute so I jump right up in the air and said YAY I DID IT!! Then people started to stared at me. Then I went to get change to go straight home to get my bags ready for the finals. Early in the morning I got up then went straight to the Olympic Aquatic center for the finals.
